Blue Collar Electric’s #ChristmasKindnessChallenge

With Christmas just around the corner, there’s so much to be excited about! The food; Christmas carols; time with family and friends; evenings spent in crowds of frantic people, rushing for the last copy of that video game (okay, maybe we could do without that part). But there’s something so magical about this time of year, isn’t there? It brings out the best in people, reminding them to think of others—to give, to love.

Charles M. Schulz says: “Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.” Here at Blue Collar Electric, we would have to agree. We believe it’s the time of year for buying someone’s coffee, shoveling your neighbor’s walk, bringing cookies to work—it’s the time of year for random acts of kindness.

We believe in the true spirit of Christmas, so this year, we are holding the first annual Blue Collar Electric Christmas Act of Kindness Challenge! It will run from November 25th, 2017 to December 25th, 2017. The rules are simple:

  1. 1. Perform a random act of kindness for somebody. This can be a friend, a family member, or a complete stranger. (Need ideas? The possibilities are endless: you can offer somebody a ride home, leave a generous tip at a restaurant, help somebody carry their groceries to the car, give away a book you really love, offer up your seat on the bus. Whatever you can think of, to do that “little something extra.”)
  2. 2. Post a picture or video of your random act of kindness onto our Facebook page; don’t forget to add a comment/explanation.
  3. 3. From there, tag three of your friends. They will then perform their random act of kindness, share a picture or video on our page, add a comment/explanation, and tag three of their friends to do likewise.
  4. 4. Multiple entries are permitted (the more entries, the more love), but you can only enter once per day.

Now, we know you’re not thinking “what’s in it for me?” but we have some amazing prizes anyways.  We will be picking some winners and giving away Edmonton Oilers tickets, a substantial donation to a charity of your choice, and so many other great Christmas gifts. Who knows, maybe your next act of kindness will be inviting somebody to a hockey game you didn’t have to pay for!

This Christmas season, let’s join together to make the world a better place, one random act of kindness at a time.

Visit our Facebook page to see the video and post your kind deeds!

Happy Holidays from everyone at Blue Collar Electric!
